Must have a Diagnostician state license and a NM PED Diagnostician license.  Is Part C to Part D assessment.

 

 

Overview: To identify, evaluate, and recommend remediation for the exceptional child.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 

  1. Follows local, state and federal laws and adheres to Public Education Department and Local School Board Policy.
  2. Administers individual tests for new referrals and re-evaluations to determine learning needs of students.
  3. Provides consultation for parents, teachers, and other staff as necessary.
  4. Insures compliance of program review by conducting student follow-up.
  5. Interprets test data for parents, school personnel, and community agencies.
  6. Participates in Educational Appraisal and Review committee meetings, under the direction of the Director of Special Education.
  7. Provides diagnosis of Psycho-Educational needs of students according to state guidelines and provides written reports with recommendations.
  8. Assists in the preparation of educational prescriptions (IEPs) when deemed necessary.
  9. Performs such other relevant tasks as may be assigned in a memo of note.
  10. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  11. Other duties as required by the Director of Special Education.
